4 PINOYS OFF TO WORLD DARTS CHAMPIONSHIP 2023/2024

This December, four (4) Filipino darters will set foot on the PDC World Darts Championship stage in Alexandra Palace, London.

Lourence Ilagan, Paolo Nebrida, Reynaldo Rivera, and Sandro Sosing leave this morning, December 12, for their participation to the Paddy Power World Darts Championship 2023/2024 in London from December 15, 2023 to January 3, 2024.

Ilagan topped the 2023 Asian Tour Order of Merit and will make his eighth appearance at the Ally Pally. The 45-year old darter of DOT-Gunner is scheduled to face off with Canada’s Matt Campbell in the first round on December 17, 1230 GMT (December 17, 830PM Manila Time). Winner of the match moves on to Round 2 versus the world’s 13th dart player, James Wade of England on December 19, 1230 GMT (December 19, 830PM Manila Time).

Nebrida of Robson-Olongapo City marks his second stint at the World Darts Championship stage after ranking 3rd in the 2023 Asian Tour Order of Merit. Nebrida will go against Simon Whitlock of Australia in the first round on December 15, 1900 GMT (December 16, 3AM Manila Time). Winner of the match will advance to Round 2 on December 16, 1900 GMT (December 17, 3AM Manila Time) and compete against PDC rank 21st player and two-time PDC World Champion Gary Anderson of Scotland.

Rivera of DOT-Caloocan City makes his first shot at the World Darts Championship. The 44-year old darter who placed 4th in the 2023 PDC Asian Tour Order of Merit will take on Irish player Keane Barry in the first round on December 16, 1900 GMT (December 17, 3AM Manila Time). Winner advances to the second round against the world’s number 2 dart player and three-time PDC World Champion Michael Van Gerwen on December 19, 1900 GMT (December 20, 3AM Manila Time).

Sosing of DOT-Tacloban City will also make his debut at the World Darts Championship after placing second at the PDC Asian Qualifier in Shimonoseki City. Sandro will go against Lee Evans of England in the first round on December 16, 1230 GMT (December 16, 830PM Manila Time). Whoever wins and advances to the second round will take on reigning World Grand Prix champion, Grand Slam of Darts champion, Players Championship Finals champion, and PDC number 3 player Luke Humphries of England on December 17, 1900 GMT (December 18, 3AM Manila Time).
