Christian Perez made his PDC Pro Tour debut at the PDC Players Championship Events 13 and 14 last June 12th and 13th in Hildesheim, Germany.
The PDC Asian Champion reached the quarter finals of Event 13, defeating former world champion Rob Cross 6-5 (World Rank #5), Jamie Hughes of England (World Rank #58) 6-1, Luke Woodhouse of England (World Rank #44) 6-2, and Karel Sedlacek of the Czech Republic (World Rank #99) 6-3. He was later deposed by England’s Connor Scutt (World Rank #81) in the battle for the semis, 6-3. World champion Michael Smith emerged as the Event Champion and brought home £12,000.
For Event 14, Perez made an early exit after bowing down to World Rank #18 José de Sousa of Portugal, 6-1. Damon Heta of Australia concluded the night as Event 14 Champion.
After Hildesheim, Perez together with Lourence Ilagan will take a train to Frankfurt to compete in the My Diesel Claim World Cup of Darts from June 15th to 18th. This will be the third time of the Perez-Ilagan tandem in the 40-nation 4-day doubles tournament.
The National Darts Federation of the Philippines extends its congratulations to Christian Perez for making another breakthrough for the Philippines in the international darts arena. We also thank Perez’ sponsor Robson Sportscraft, his family, friends, and the Filipino darting community for their relentless support. |
