he United Filipino Darts Club (UFDC) Abu Dhabi has organized a Dhs. 5,000.00 Guaranteed Dart Tournament (approximately Php 60,000.00), which will serve as the opening salvo of the planned series of invitational tournaments under the leadership of newly-installed UFDC President, Ding Arduo. Outgoing President, Ronnel Botor, commended the new leadership for this initial project following the smooth transition of the UFDC top post just recently.

Dubbed as “1st UFDC Invitational Dart Tournament”, it is aimed at gathering together all the finest darts enthusiasts of various nationalities in the UAE and the nearby Gulf region.

A number of seasoned dart players from as far as Ras al Khaimah, Fujairah, Sharjah, Dubai and Qatar have already sent confirmation feelers on joining the said tournament not to mention the numerous tournament-hungry Pinoy darters who are scattered all over the region. According to the UFDC President: “It is now high time to elevate the sport of darts into a more competitive, more rewarding and world-class event in order to produce world class players from the UAE.”

The event will be held at Safari Discotheque, Howard Johnson Diplomat Hotel at Khalifa Street (opposite Le Royal Meridian Hotel) in Abu Dhabi from 2:00 PM onwards. The official registration opens at 12:00 NN and closes at 1:45 PM. Game starts at exactly 2:00 PM sharp. Elegant trophies plus BIG, BIG cash prizes await the winners. Various souvenir and electronic items will also be won via random raffle draws during the event.   Mode of play is 501 best of 3 in the Winners’ Bracket and 701 in the Losers’ Bracket. Entry fee is Dhs. 80   per player with one (1) FREE beer or any beverage of choice. Special discounts will,     likewise, be given on various food and refreshment items to all participants including their friends and family mem-           bers who will grace the said event.

This tournament is supported by National Dart Federation, Philippines (NDFP) from which UFDC is a full-member and all-time supporter.
