Marikina
City Dart Organization (MCDO) Re-Organizes
Kagawad Rommel “Omeng” Dumlao of the
Knights of Darters was unanimously chosen as the new Chairman of
Marikina City Dart Organization (MCDO) in a re-organizational meeting
held last March 2, 2006 at Common Room Bar and Restaurant in Marikina
City.
Kagawad Omeng is the lead organizer of the MCDO
dart tournaments and a staunch supporter of NDFP dart expansion
projects. Omeng Dumlao is a Barangay Kagawad of Tañong, Marikina
City and head of the Tañong-based Knights of Darters.
Dexter Vasquez retained his position as Vice Chairman,
so with Ritchie Gannaban as General Secretary. Other Board Directors
include World Cupper Boie Parfan, Marvin Orlina, Dagul Legaspi,
Bobong Santos and new member, Rey “Kano” Santos. NDFP
President Tito Soncuya is the MCDO Adviser.
The Marikina City Dart Organization (MCDO) was
organized last year to spearhead the dart development programs of
Marikina City. So far, MCDO has presented six (6) dart tournaments
with cash prizes ranging from P10,000 to P20,000, maintained the
most attended weekly money-in money-out tournament at Common Room
Bar and Cafe and encouraged new darters in Marikina through its
participation in the Robson Dart League. Slowly but surely, darts
in Marikina is on an upswing and this will continue as new programs
are made to present, not only P10,000 tournaments, but a major tournament
for 2006.
